Heaven and Hell

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Good Morning!

Several folks have asked me questions about what happens when we die and will there be a day of judgment.  They want to know if some of the teachings that they learned as a child were true.

As you already know, if you have been reading the Bible Ascension Blog, I do not believe that salvation is only about heaven and hell. I believe that salvation is about being born into a new species of Divine Supernatural Beings of Light… immortal beings who look and act as Jesus did.

Jesus said that he was the first born of many.  When we are “saved” we are born into this new kingdom and we begin the process of becoming… maturing into this new species.

As I have written earlier, the gift of the Holy Spirit was the ultimate purpose of the death and resurrection of Jesus.  By paying the penalty for our karma and cleansing us of the old negative energies we are prepared to receive the Holy Spirit.

It is the Holy Spirit that brings us into this new birth.

The new birth is the birth of the children of God.  We are no longer children of Adam living in the human condition. We have been translated from the kingdom of darkness… or separation from God, into the kingdom of the Son… the Christ.

We are saved from the human condition with all of its limitations and born into the Divine freedom that we have in Christ.

Questions on Heaven and Hell

I don’t spend much time thinking about heaven and hell in the traditional sense.  So it is hard for me to answer the questions I have received.  I don’t have a revelation on these topics.  I have opinions but my opinions are not any more important than anyone else’s opinion.

I promised you when I began this blog that I would always tell you the truth as I understood it.  I also promised that if I got a new revelation on something that I had been teaching, I would tell you about that too.

Praying For Revelation

I have been praying for insight into the day of Judgment, the Rapture and other end time prophecies so that I could add something of value to the way these events are interpreted.

I did not get any revelation on the meaning of these events that are spoken of in the Bible.  I could share with you what tradition folks believe or what many metaphysical teachers have to say about these topics.  But I did not hear any new revelation from the Spirit on these areas of interest.

My Answer

Here is what I did get.  A few days ago I picked up the Bible and it opened to the book Philippians.  I noticed that I had underlined some passages so I read them.  I chuckled to myself because I knew that this was the answer the Holy Spirit was giving to me about my questions and it was what I needed to share with you.

This is from a letter that Paul wrote to the church in Philippi.

Phillipians 3:10 – 21

“I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

Join with others in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you.

For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things.

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”

The Message

This reminded me that what was most important was the effort to attain the “prize of the high calling.”  Paul was not yet perfect. But he knew what his goal was. He challenged his readers to keep their eyes on the heavenly things and not on the earth.  He teaches us not to be like those that have their mind on the earthly… the way that leads to destruction.

He also says that if you see things differently or if you have questions about what you read (my addition to Paul’s words), God will make it clear to you.

He encourages us to live up to what we already know.  This says to me that we should not get lost in what we are confused about but instead to go after what we do understand.

For me the most important thing is to focus on the new birth… living as a Christed being.  I want to keep my eyes on the high calling and not get lost in the confusion of those things I do not understand.

Yesterday, while I was driving around town I saw a church sign.  It said, ” Jesus did not come to give us religion but to give us Life!”

That is so true.  Many of the ideas we spend so much time contemplating and arguing about are the issues of religion.  I suggest that we all turn our attention to the Life we have in Christ.  Focus on what you know.  Focus on the spiritual realms and not on the earthly arguments about religion.

If you have a burning question, pray and God will answer you.

Be blessed,

Marty Dow

A Question on the Rapture

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Here are a few questions from one of our readers.

Questions:

What’s your viewpoint on the Rapture? What happens after a person commits suicide?Do you think Jesus Christ will return in a physical body and if so approximately when – within the next decade or two – in a 100 years – or 1000 years or never again on earth?

Also I asked some fundamental questions 5 to 6 weeks ago and didn’t see your audio response. I’m still hoping you will answer these basic questions to your best ability – as I have wondered the answers to these questions for several decades.

Answer:

Hi,

I am sorry I did not make the audio I spoke of… as of yet.

You have lots of questions and I probably do not have the answers to all of them.  Many of them I do not spend time thinking about.

Here is the bottom line for me.

We Are The Creators Of Our Reality

I believe that we create the reality we experience in life through the things we believe in and think upon.  We are the ones who use our creative abilities… God given creative abilities to create our life.  God tells us to think His thoughts… to listen to Him and not what the world tells you.  If we listen and obey his High Thoughts… which are about his goodness and mercy and the plans to prosper us and heal us…. Then we will be blessed in every way possible.  If not, if we think on the curse then we will experience the curse.  He tells us that the choice is ours.

God’s Mercy Endures Forever

Questions like these often come out of a fear that you might get it wrong and have a big consequence for that mistake.  I know that the fundamentalist church teaches that we have to be afraid. That God will punish us for our mistakes. That Hell awaits those that don’t get it exactly right.

I don’t think in those terms.  I believe God when He says that His mercy will endure forever.  I believe that God is for me and not against me.  I believe that if I place my faith in the promise of salvation I can be assured that I will be saved.  I don’t spend time thinking about hell or damnation.  The Bible tells us to think on good things and that is what I do.

The Return of Christ

Most of the things we get so caught up in don’t really matter.  I do believe Jesus is coming back in the flesh.  But I also believe that Christ is born in us and we are manifesting Christ on the earth.  So I believe both ideas.

Suicide

I don’t worry about suicide.  I focus my attention on the mercy of God.  I believe that God’s love and mercy never end.  So if someone commits suicide I trust that God will make a way for them.  God wants to save everyone.  God wants to bless us all.  That is where I put my attention.  When I do so fear cannot grip me and cause me to despair.

The Rapture

I am not sure what the Rapture will actually look like.  But if Jesus calls believers to rise to heaven then I will be with them because I am a believer.  I can leave the details and worries about the Rapture to Jesus.  I don’t have to distress over it.  I don’t have to everything figured out and all the ducks in order.  I love the Lord.  He is my Lord, savior and redeemer.  He knows what is happening and believe me wherever I need to be he will get me there.

Roll Your Cares On Him

The Bible says to roll all your cares on Him.  I encourage you to do so.  Pray for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation knowledge so that you will get the answers to your questions.  But do so in faith… faith in His love and mercy.  Faith in the power of the Spirit to save you even if you don’t have every single concept correct.   Relax… trust… be thankful for the fulfillment of His promises.  And also be thankful that He really does not expect you to be perfect.  If you could be perfect on your own why would he have come to redeem us?

Let go of the fear.  Let the Blood of the Lamb wash you clean of the fears and fill you with His love.  The Bible says that perfect love will cast out fear.  So perfect your love for the Lord and all the fear of what will happen without Him will flow away.

Sorry I don’t answer every question just when you ask.  Some I really don’t have an answer to but I am not afraid.  I focus on what I do know instead then I am at peace in Him.  I have combined my faith with his promises and entered into his rest!

God bless you,

Marty Dow

For Those Who Experience Fear

Now this reader may not be asking these questions out of fear, but many folks do worry about these things.  If you are one of the folks that are concerned that you might have the wrong answer or that I might have the incorrect answer to a theological question and be on the verge of going to hell, then I encourage you to consider the above answer as a way to discover peace even in the midst of confusion.

Another Question On Salvation Through Jesus

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Sorry I have not yet created the audio I promised. I have been very busy with travel and I am also creating a new site.  I can’t wait to share the new site with you but it is not quite ready for an unveiling.  However, I did want to continue our discussion on questions readers have sent to me.

Here is another question sent in by a fellow Bible Ascension Blog reader

Question

Following up with the question about salvation. So do you believe that those who don’t confess the name of Jesus as Lord and savior are not going to heaven and don’t have the in-dwelling spirit of God?

Answer

Remember, it is not so much what I believe but what you believe.  I told you in my last post that I had decided to believe the Bible instead of things that I learned from other sources. It is my choice to choose those things that I believe and the Bible is what I have chosen to believe.

So to answer this question, lets look at what Jesus said concerning salvation in the scriptures.

Just a quick reminder… salvation is much more than escaping hell and getting to heaven.  What we are describing on this Bible Ascension blog is about a new birth into a new species of beings… Divine beings birthed into the kingdom of God.

Read the scriptures with this image in mind and some of the old fears and resistance to the scriptures on salvation will be washed away.

Jesus as the Bread of Life

I personally love the gospel of John, so lets look there.

In John 6, Jesus describes himself as the Bread of Life.   Starting in verse 27 he tells his listeners not to “labor for food which perishes but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

Everlasting life is not chronological time… it is the very life of God that is birth into the new species of Divine Beings.

When the Jews asked him how they could do the works of God he answered, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” Vs 29

In verse 33 Jesus tells us “For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”  In verse 35 he says, “I am the bread of life.”

Verse 40, “And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who see the son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Verse 47 -48, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life.”

Verse 50-51, “This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

So in these verses Jesus is making the claim that he is the bread of life, that he will give his flesh or body for the life of the world and that he came from heaven to do the Will of God which is to give those that believe in him everlasting life.

Believing On the Son Brings Everlasting Life

In chapter 3 of John Jesus makes very similar statements about who he is and why he came to earth.  This a great chapter to study more on the new birth. But for our conversation to day, lets look at John 3:16-19.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.  He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ”

A New Species of Supernatural Beings of Light

So what does all this mean.  I believe that the Bible is clear that Jesus is the incarnation of the Christ–the only begotten son of God. Christ took on the form of a man in order to complete a mission that began before the foundation of the earth. This mission was to redeem us from the curse of the human condition and translate us into a new species as members of the kingdom of heaven/or God.

When Jesus says that the one who does not believe is condemned already, I believe that he is referring to the curse. All human beings are already operating under the curse. If you reject being redeemed from the curse of the human condition, you are still cursed.

What Is Condemnation?

In verse 19, Jesus describes the condemnation. “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”  The light comes into the world but it is rejected because people prefer to believe the dark thoughts produced by the world beliefs.

Even many of the Jews who studied the ancient scriptures did not recognize who Jesus was when they met him. In John 5: 38-40 Jesus tells his listeners, “But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.”

The New Believer

Jesus describes what a new believer will look like in Mark 16:15-18.  Go read this for yourself. It describes a supernatural race of beings that have the ability to heal the sick, speak in tongues, drink poison with no ill effect, and to handle deadly snakes with no negative consequences.

It is obvious to me that these folks have stepped out of the human condition of struggle and fear into a supernatural ability to overcome the effects of the curse… not just for themselves but for others too!

The Holy Grail Is The Holy Spirit

As for the question of the in dwelling Spirit of God, let me refer you to Galatians 3:13-14.

“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree), That the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

The in dwelling of the Spirit is the Holy Grail.  It is the thing that Jesus came to give to us. The in dwelling of the Spirit is what takes us from the human condition into this new species. The Bible refers to the Holy Spirit as a deposit or guarantee of salvation  until the transformation is complete.

The natural human being is created in the image of God.  This image is extremely powerful. Human beings have great creative power because we were created in God’s image.  The Bible does not say that human beings were born of God.

Christ The Only Begotten

Christ is a part of the God Head. Christ was the only begotten Son of God because all other species were created not begotten.  Christ was birthed out of the Spirit of God. Adam was created with many of the attributes of God. Adam was not born neither were the angels.

This new species of Divine beings are birthed through faith into the family of God, as children of God… not born through natural means but through faith in the finished work of the Christ, incarnated as Jesus.

It is the gift of the Holy Spirit that enables this new birth to occur and empowers the believer with supernatural force.

The Holy Spirit has always been visible on the earth, teaching, guiding the children of men.  However, the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit comes through the work that Jesus completed in His ministry on earth.  Without this work we would never be able to transformed into this new species.

Humanity Is The Root Stock

The amazing thing to me is that the human condition is the root stock out of which this new species is being created. It is a blending of the human species with the Divine. The Divine seed is the Holy Spirit being birth into the root stock of the created, fallen human being.

The work of Jesus was to cleanse us of our karmic debt making it possible to be transformed by something as holy as the Holy Spirit.  Without that cleansing power of the blood of Jesus, a human being would have been killed — destroyed by the power and purity of God’s Spirit.

The power of the purity of the Spirit is demonstrated many times in the old testament.  Specifically, you can see this in the rituals of protection taken by the high priest of the Temple.   More on this at another time.

After the resurrection, the Bible describes Jesus as being the first born of many.  Born into what… this new species. Jesus was the first born into this new species.

Christ had to incarnate into the root stock of humanity and pay the karmic debt as a human being. Then through the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus, the man, was born into this new species making it possible for others to follow through the power of faith.

Faith in what?  Faith in the work that Jesus had accomplished on earth… through the cross, the resurrection, and the ascension.

The Real Question Here

If the questioner is at all like I was in my journey to understand the meaning of the Bible message, the real question is “What about those who are not Christians?  Are they separated from God?  Are they without the spirit of God?”

This is a great question and I will answer it in the next post.

In His Glory,

Marty Dow

A Question On Salvation In Jesus

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Here is question from a reader on Salvation in and through Jesus along with my answer.

Question

I’m new to your site and a little confused. My main question is, do you believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and it is only through His salvation that we are saved?

Answer

Thanks for your question.

Yes, I believe in Jesus and I also believe that we are saved through him.  However, I believe that salvation is much greater than what I learned as a child. It is so much more than escaping hell or getting a ticket to heaven… although these are great things.  Salvation is a birth into a new species.  We are no longer human beings struggling through the human condition.

In Christ we are born again… born of His flesh and bone.  We are now Divine beings filled with His life, which is eternal life (deathless life not chronological time), and His Spirit.  Natural human beings are born of the first Adam with all of Adam’s limitations.  The born again Christian (disciple of Jesus) is born of the second Adam.  The first Adam was a man.

The second Adam is God/Christ incarnated in flesh to pay the penalty of sin (separation from God and all the acts that come out of that state)(or for the metaphysical student… the karmic debt), destroy Lucifer (the fallen angel that caused the earth to be in chaos as recorded in Genesis 2) and his work (the curse which resulted from his rebellion, fall and the cosmic war he began), and to birth a new species of heavenly beings who live on the earth.  Remember, the Bible teaches that Christ is returning to earth to rule and He is bringing heaven (the new Jerusalem) with Him.

We are to express heaven on earth now in preparation for His return and the beginning of the Ages to Come.  We are to grow into this new state of being until we are filled with His Glory… “The whole earth groans for the birth of the Sons of God!”

There are two things you should know about my site:

  1. It is written for folks who come from a metaphysical or alternative spiritual path, not the traditional Christian.  I am using language and imagery that are quite familiar to these folks but may be confusing to a traditional Christian.  This could be compared to Paul in Athens talking to the Greeks about the Unknown God to whom they had created a statue.  So this language may be the cause of some of your confusion.  All people are welcome to visit my site but not all will feel connected to my language or even my message.
  2. Secondly, my message is different than what you will hear in many churches.  My emphasis is not on heaven and hell but on living in the fullness of Spirit in our physical forms right here and right now.  Many churches do not emphasis living and striving for the “perfect man” while on earth. Many feel that most of our transformation will happen in heaven or when Jesus returns.  I believe that we were meant to live supernatural lives now, in a physical form. I believe that if the life of Christ dwells in me than that deathless life will transform me now so that when the Lord returns I will look just like Him.  My potential for growing up into him is activated by my faith in the promise of letting the spirit flow completely through me.    By faith, I died (to the human condition born of the first Adam) with Christ so that Christ (the supernatural Second Adam) can live in me NOW!  He can express completely and fully through me NOW! We are in preparation for the Ages To Come! And things are about to change very soon.

So you may or may not feel comfortable with the language or the message.  You are welcome to study with us but I understand if this is not for you. I trust that the Spirit will guide each of us to wherever we can grow.  Follow your heart, trust in the Lord and you will find your perfect place.

I hope that even if we disagree on the emphasis of the Gospel, we can agree to disagree in love.  Love is the only commandment that Jesus left for us to follow.  Love perfects us in Him!

In His Glory,

Marty Dow

Eternal Life in Christ Jesus… What does it mean?

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

Today we will review the meaning of eternal life in Christ Jesus as it is taught in the Bible and reflected in the Odes of Solomon.

Happy New Year To ALL Bible Ascension Students!

My goal is to make 2010 the best year ever as we study and implement the Will of God in our lives.

I believe with all my heart that God’s will for us is to manifest the Glory of God in and through our spirit, soul and body, as we demonstrate the supernatural power of God upon the earth… the definition of Bible Ascension. This is the result of being born again by faith into this new species of Divine Beings.

Abundant Life In Christ!

The Bible states that Jesus came to earth to bring us life and more abundant life. In John 6, Jesus states that he is the Bread of Life that came down from heaven to give life to the world.

“I am the Bread of Life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which comes down from heaven that one may eat of it and not die.

I am the Living Bread which came down from heaven.  If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

John 6: 48-51

“This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

John 6:58

When the Jews asked Jesus what they should do that they might work the works of God, Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God that you believe in Him whom He sent.”  John 6:28-29

Why were they so interested in knowing how to work the works of God? Because they had just seen Jesus feed the multitude from only 5 barley loaves and two small fish!

Understanding Eternal Life

The Bible is filled with references to eternal life and the promise of doing the miraculous works that Jesus did and even greater.

These promises are not just about heaven and hell. They are offering humanity so much more! The mysteries of the new birth have been hidden in plain sight.

Most traditional Bible students have not been able to see past what their human consciousness could understand.  They fastened on to the concept of heaven and hell because they misunderstand the meaning of eternal life.  Their minds could only understand the concept of chronological time.  They mistook the word eternal as meaning a never ending life. And obviously if you are going to live forever you must have someone to live after you die.

Eternal life is a never ending life… a deathless life. But it is so much more than where you reside after you die.  To me the Bible is very clear about the depth and width of this new life in Christ. But unless you have the Spirit of wisdom and revelation knowledge it is easy to get caught up in the traditional teachings of Christianity.

When many of his followers left him because they did not understand how they could eat his flesh and drink his blood, Jesus explained the confusion and fear of these followers in this way…

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you who do not believe…. Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”

John 6: 63-65

On the last night Jesus would be with His disciples before his death, he explained the true meaning of eternal life to them. Notice the reference once again to the fact that those to whom he gives eternal life are only as many as God has given to him.

“Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that your Son also may glorify You, as you have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

John 17: 1-3

So what is eternal life? Eternal Life is that we may know God and Jesus Christ whom God sent to earth on a very important mission. This mission was to give life to the world… the Divine Life. This is very life and knowledge of God and of Jesus, the first born of many.

And all who believe in this promise, apply their faith to the promise will be born into this new kingdom… born of God, born of the Spirit of God and of Christ.

This is a new birth. It is not achieved through an evolution of consciousness although we will have the mind of Christ in this new birth. It is a spiritual birth that comes through faith. Faith in the promise. Faith in the Word. Faith in the gift of God through Christ Jesus and his redemptive work.  You can not earn it. You can not simply grow into it. It is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ!

Eternal Life Described in the Odes of Solomon

Here are a few verses from the Odes of Solomon that reflect Solomon of the Odes experiences with the concept of eternal life and the Will of God.

Ode 9

2. The word of the Lord and His good pleasures, the holy thought which He devised concerning His Messiah.

3. For in the will of the Lord is your salvation, and His thought is everlasting life; and your end is immortality.

4. Be enriched in God the Father, and receive the thought of the Most High.

5.  Be strong and be redeemed by His Grace.

Ode 10

1.  The Lord hath directed my mouth by His word: and He has opened my heart by His light: and He has caused to dwell in me His deathless life.

Ode 15

8.  I have put on incorruption through His name: and have put off corruption by His Grace.

9.  Death has been destroyed before my face: and Sheol (the place of death) has been abolished by my word:

10.  And there has gone up deathless life in the Lord’s land,

11.  And it has been made known to His faithful ones, and it has been given without stint to all those that trust in Him. Hallelujah

Ode 17

1.  I was crowned by my God: my crown is living:
